Zum Gemeindegebiet von <strong>Orta San Giulio<\/strong> geh\u00f6rt auch die <strong>Insel San Giulio<\/strong>, die ein beliebtes <strong>Ausflugsziel<\/strong> ist. <\/p>\n<p>Orta ist ein sehr idyllischer Ort, der wie malerisch <strong>am Ufer des Sees<\/strong> liegt. Der zentrale Platz von <strong>Orta San Giulio<\/strong> ist die <strong>Piazza Motta<\/strong>, die einen wunderbaren Blick auf den See bietet. <\/p>\n<p>Ebenfalls in Orta San Giulio befindet sich das <strong>Kloster Sacro Monte<\/strong>. Dieses Kloster ist ein gigantischer Geb\u00e4udekomplex mit rund <strong>20 Kapellen<\/strong>. Alle diese Kapellen wurden dem <strong>Heiligen Franz von Assisi<\/strong> geweiht. Die Kapellen wurden in verschiedenen Stilarten von <strong>Renaissance<\/strong> bis <strong>Rokoko<\/strong> erbaut. <\/p>\n<p>DAs Kloster befindet sich oberhalb der Ortschaft <strong>Orta San Giulio<\/strong> inmitten einer lieblichen <strong>H\u00fcgellandschaft mit Blick auf den Ortasee<\/strong>. Das <strong>Kloster Sacro Monte<\/strong> wurde von der <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> zum <strong>Weltkulturerbe<\/strong> erkl\u00e4rt.<\/p>\n<p>Ein weiteres Highlight in Orta San Giulio ist der <strong>Palazzotto<\/strong>, ein Geb\u00e4ude aus dem Jahr <strong>1582<\/strong>. Dieser Palast befindet sich im Zentrum von Orta San Giulio. Einst war der Palast der Sitz der Selbstverwaltung. Noch heute findet man im Palazzotto das Wappen einiger Bisch\u00f6fe der Region. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Sacro Monte Orta<\/strong> besitzt prunkvolle <strong>Fresken und Statuen<\/strong>, die Szenen aus dem Leben des Heiligen Franz von Assisi darstellen. <\/p>\n<p>Rund um das Kloster befindet sich ein Mischwald, der unter Naturschutz steht.
