Im Jahr <strong>2003<\/strong> wurde der Berg zum <strong>Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO<\/strong> ernannt. Auf dem <strong>Monte San Giorgio<\/strong> wurden <strong>Fossilien<\/strong> von  bis zu <strong>240 Millionen Jahren<\/strong> gefunden. Teilweise waren die <strong>Fossilien in einem sehr guten Zustand<\/strong>. Im <strong>Berg Monte San Giorgio<\/strong> sind beeindruckende <strong>Fossilien Funde<\/strong> verborgen. Einige der wichtigsten Fundst\u00fccke k\u00f6nnen Sie in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lago-maggiore-urlaub.de\/luganer-see\/melide\/\" >Melide<\/a> im <strong>Fossilien Museum<\/strong> bewundern.<\/p>\n<p>Man kann auf dem Monte San. Giorgio wandern und dabei die Naturlandschaft und <strong>fossile Schatzkammer<\/strong> bewundern. Eine der <strong>Wanderungen<\/strong> f\u00fchrt von <strong>Capolago<\/strong> bis nach <strong>Riva S. Vitale<\/strong>, \u00fcber <strong>San Giorgio<\/strong>, <strong>Melide<\/strong> und <strong>Riva S. Vitale<\/strong> wieder zur\u00fcck nach <strong>Capolago<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Der Monte San. Giorgio ist f\u00fcr Wanderer ein besonders guter <strong>Aussichtsberg<\/strong>. Im Norden k\u00f6nnen Sie den Blick \u00fcber den <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lago-maggiore-urlaub.de\/luganer-see\/\" >Luganer See<\/a> werfen. Hinter dem <strong>Luganer See<\/strong> befinden sich die <strong>Tessiner Alpen<\/strong>. In s\u00fcdliche Richtung k\u00f6nnen Sie den Blick \u00fcber die <strong>Po Ebene<\/strong> bewundern. Ein einzigarter Rundblick ist vom <strong>Monte San. Giorgio<\/strong> aus m\u00f6glich. <\/p>\n<p>Der erste Teil der Wanderung zwischen zwei Nationen f\u00fchrt vom <strong>Bahnhof des Ortes Capolago<\/strong> aus an einer Stra\u00dfe bis nach <strong>Riva<\/strong>. Der eigentliche Wanderweg beginnt bei der Kirch oberhalb von Riva. Von hier aus wandert man auf einem steilen Pfad durch <strong>W\u00e4lder voller Kastanienb\u00e4ume<\/strong> bis hin zu einem Grat. Nach kurzer Zeit erreicht man vom Grat aus bald den <strong>Gipfel<\/strong>. Man muss einfach immer dem Wanderweg bis nach <strong>Melide<\/strong> folgen. Nach dem Gipfel folgt der Abstieg auf einem alten Pfad. Von Melide nach Riva wird der Pfad nochmal richtig eng und man muss gut aufpassen, damit man nicht stolpert. Von Riva aus spaziert man entlang der Stra\u00dfe nach Capolago, wo man schon den Bahnhof von der Ferne aus erkennen kann. <\/p>\n<p>Wanderungen in der Gegend des <strong>Fossilienberges San.
