Rund um den See befinden sich unz\u00e4hlige <strong>Urlaubsorte<\/strong>. Doch ein absolutes <strong>Highlight<\/strong> ist die <strong>Insel San Giulio<\/strong> in der Mitte des Orta Sees.<\/p>\n<p>Die <strong>Isola San Giulio<\/strong> kann man per <strong>Linienboot<\/strong> erreichen. In nur wenigen Minuten gelangt man von <strong>Orta San Giulio<\/strong> aus bis ans Ufer der Insel in der Mitte des Sees.<\/p>\n<p>Die Insel besitzt nur eine Gr\u00f6\u00dfe von <strong>175 x 140 Metern<\/strong>. Auf der <strong>Insel San Giulio<\/strong> befindet sich die <strong>Basilika des Heiligen Giulio<\/strong>. Einer Legende zufolge war die Insel von <strong>Schlangen und Drachen<\/strong> besiedelt und daher wagte sich niemand auf die Insel. Der <strong>Heilige Giulio<\/strong> hat die Insel auf seinem Umhang erreicht, ohne dabei das Wasser des Sees zu ber\u00fchren. Als <strong>San Giulio<\/strong> dort angekommen war, hat er die Schlangen und Drachen von der Insel vertrieben und so die Insel f\u00fcr die Menschen zug\u00e4nglich gemacht. Die Kirch auf der Insel tr\u00e4gt daher auch den Namen des Heiligen Giulio.<\/p>\n<p>Im kleinen <strong>St\u00e4dtchen Orta<\/strong> befindet sich die <strong>Piazza Mario Motta<\/strong>, die in Richtung des Sees zeigt. Von der Piazza aus hat man einen sch\u00f6nen <strong>Blick auf den See<\/strong> und auf die <strong>Insel San Giulio<\/strong>. Von hier aus starten die <strong>Linienboote<\/strong> in Richtung <strong>Isola San Giulio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Heutzutage ist die eins unbewohnte Insel komplett zugebaut. Die Insel ist ein beliebtes <strong>Reiseziel f\u00fcr Wallfahrer<\/strong> und andere Reisende. Von der Ferne aus wird das Bild der Insel vom ehemaligen <strong>Bischhofspalast<\/strong> dominiert.
